Library NewsFrom the Desk of Electronic JournalsThe Library now provides access to more than 20,000 full-text electronic journal, magazine and newspaper titles. Also, for the first time, access to our vast electronic journal collection is now available through the Library's Catalog. The new catalog records include Internet links to the full text journals, with the coverage dates included in each link. This greatly simplified search system should dramatically reduce the time required to do your research and increase the quality of the information you can find. Some items, for example, electronic government documents, will not initially be available through the catalog, but will be included later as monthly updates are performed. Until then, you will still be able to find most of these titles by using your previous online search methods. Those of you familiar with the CSUN List of Electronic Periodicals will notice that it now links directly to the catalog. Searches are available by journal title, keyword, subject or ISSN. To browse by title, please use the A-Z table located on the left side of the page. If you do not find your title in this list, try a Periodical Title Search in the Library Catalog. To search for specific articles, please use our Find Articles and Research Data web page. As always, if there are articles not available through our resources, please request them through our Interlibrary Loan Service. We hope you enjoy the benefits of this new feature. The updates to the catalog will be ongoing, supplying even more complete and current information for your use. As with any new program, we’d appreciate your comments so we can make your information searches as effective as possible. April 13, 2006
