Tseng Gallery
From the Library’s collections, an exhibit
of the art and craft of bookbinding and decoration, from the invention
of printing in the 15th century, to the eve of mechanized binding in the
19th century. Members of the Guild of Book Workers in California demonstrated
how this craft is still practiced today. Equipment and tools were used
to illustrate the hand-binding process.
This exhibit was made possible by a generous gift
from Gus and Erika Manders and the Friends of the Oviatt Library.
