Dr. Arnold Court, a climatologist and faculty member in the Department of Geography for 22 years , was the chief meteorologist on the United States Antarctic Survey, 1939-41, also referred to as the Third Byrd Antarctic Expedition. His books and papers form the Arnold Court Collection on Polar Exploration. The books have been cataloged and are listed on the Oviatt Library’s catalog under the title Arnold Court Collection on Polar Exploration. The papers remain unprocessed at this time. The Arnold Court estate gifted his collection to the University Library in 2002. The Court family made a generous donation for the purchasing of additional materials on travel and exploration for the University Library.
