The first version of Guide to the Collections (1983) was written
by Dr. Leonard Pitt, Founding Director of the Urban Archives Project; Richard
Forman, Archivist; and Mildred Thomas, Assistant Archivist. Entries have been
revised, updated or added as collections have been accessioned, processed
and cataloged. Other contributors to the Guide have included grant project
assistants and student interns, who have worked in the Archives since it beginnings.
Web design of the Guide to the Collections was done by Elizabeth
Altman, Oviatt Library Web Master and Holly Wang, MILS Graduate Student Intern
from UCLA. We also express our gratitude to the countless individuals whose
invaluable work over the past twenty-six years has greatly contributed to
the Urban Archives Center.
