The following quick-start guide has been created for CSUN students and researchers.

The Anthropological Index Online is based on the journal holdings of The Anthropology Library at the The British Museum (Museum of Mankind) which receives periodicals in all branches of anthropology, from academic institutions and publishers around the world.
1950s through 1997. You must click the year or years to be searched. "All years" is an option. The choice of "Recent data" as a date will search the years since 1993, but most of the "Recent data" currently available is from 1997. There are very few citations for the years 1994, 1995, and 1996.
The AIO database is freely available.
If you use the "Continent," "Region," or "Subject Area" pop-up lists
you may be able to clear the forms of your earlier choices by clicking on
the blank space at the top of the form. If not, use the "clear all" button
to get rid or your earlier choices.
The subject area pop-up choices are limited. For more specific searches try your
keywords in the "Any field" box.
If two words are entered in a search field, an implicit Boolean "and" search is executed.
