The Friends of the Oviatt Library was founded so that members of the community might become active participants in the Library at California State University, Northridge.
Since its beginnings in 1956, CSU Northridge has rapidly grown into one of the largest universities in California. The Library has grown in size and prestige along with the campus. In order to ensure the continued quality of the Library's collection, and to extend the cultural resources of the Library into the community, the Friends of the Oviatt Library group has been established.
The Friends is a volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and enhancing the resources of the Oviatt Library.
