MUS 601: Dissertations and theses

This guide has been archived and may have outdated information or broken links.

Most theses of former CSUN students are available online through ScholarWorks. As of 2012, theses are submitted online and not available in print. To browse all available theses from the Music department, search here.

To browse doctoral dissertations (including DMA), use Proquest Dissertations. Many dissertations are available as PDFs. For example, here is information about a dissertation from UW Madison:

When only an abstract is available, you can request the full item by using Interlibrary Loan.

Chicago Manual of Style
This is the required style for this class, as well as for your thesis, and is available online (16th edition). The library has several print copies of the 15th edition. You can also consult the Turabian guide, which is based on Chicago.
