Oviatt Library offers bibliographic database instruction for students, faculty
and staff. The Library's instructional programs include several classes, occasionally
invited speakers, as well as self-instructional programs.
- "Overview" adapts to the backgrounds of the patrons who attend. Each demonstration
will offer experience in searching appropriate computer indexes. The sessions
will introduce participants to the general principles of Boolean searching.
These sessions are not a substitute for the more customized library instruction
sessions which professors arrange with individual specialist librarians.
They are aimed at the independent researcher or student who needs more detailed
instruction than can be provided by a librarian at the Reference Desk.
