Title Page from Millicent Farrington Lowry's Line-A-Day Diary

One unique format that can be found amongst diaries and journals is the five-year journal. In this type of journal, the writer records short entries every day and when the new year begins, they go back and record the day’s entry next to the previous year’s entry. Then, after five years each page displays a single day spanning five years.

This is book is available in the main stacks of the University Library, and in Special Collections and Archives where it is part of the  Vern and Bonnie Bullough Collection on Sex and Gender.

The University Archives and Digital Collections in the University Library house a complete run of the campus newspaper, the Daily (and Summer) Sundial. A lot has happened in CSUN’s 64 years, and for some things our only record of them exists there. While that will hopefully change, for now let’s get (re)acquainted with the CSUN Snacketeria.
