The Library manages the 2 campus open access computer labs; Sierra Hall 392, and the Library's Collaboratory. Lab Consultants are on duty at all times to provide help with using the hardware and software provided in the Labs.
The use of these labs is restricted to current CSUN students, faculty & staff, and is subject to the University Policy for Use of Computing Resources.
The Collaboratory

Third floor, east wing, Oviatt Library. -
Workstation Hardware
There are 174 Core2Duo systems available.
All systems have 2GB memory, a DVD ROM drive and a 19" widescreen LCD monitor. -
Software
Software available includes MS Office 2007 (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Front Page); MS Internet Explorer (v8.0); SPSS* (statistical package); FTP, telnet & SSH; Symantec Endpoint Anti-Virus; Second Life*; Dreamweaver*; and various other utilities. Access is available to all of the Library's Research Resources, and to WebMail.
*Lab Consultants cannot assist with these software packages. -
Printing
Printing requires the use of a debit card which may be purchased at several locations in the Library. Debit cards may be purchased in $5 to $20 denominations at the West Coast Copy office, and from the main floor, Reference Area, and third floor, east wing vending machines. Problems should be reported to West Coast Copy (Oviatt 111D) in person or at (818) 677-2664. -
