You can find a public company’s 10-K or annual report in several places. The SEC will give you a comprehensive list of all of the forms a company has filed with them. To find the 10-K or annual report, see the video below:

You can also find this information on the company’s investor website (ex: http://investor.apple.com). In addition, two of our databases will give you this information:

Mergent Online: Search for your company. Then on the results page, choose the FILINGS tab.

LexisNexis Academic: Search under COMPANIES on the left and then SEC FILINGS. Make sure to change the search box term from EVERYWHERE to COMPANY.

Standard and Poor’s NetAdvantage is probably one of our easier databases to navigate to find company financial information. It gives you clear, concise financial information.

 LexisNexis Academic is another great resource for company financial information. Just choose COMPANIES and then COMPANY DOSSIER from the left-hand side of the page and go from there. Then enter your company and go from there.

Now let’s talk about where to find company informtion on the Internet.

Yahoo! Finance and Google Finance are both great resources for basic financial in formation such as balance sheets and income statements. And both of these websites will give you historial stock prices as well as current company and industry news.

If you have never used Big Charts, this website does just what its name says: a chart showing the company’s current stock prices and as well as historical stock prices. You can also e-mail or print the chart, which is a pretty handy tool.
