Doris Helfer Receives Distinguished Teaching, Counseling or Librarianship Award

Doris HelferDoris Helfer, a Reference Librarian and Chair of Technical Services, was honored with the California State University, Northridge  Distinguished Teaching, Counseling or Librarianship Award for 2009.

From the award description: “The principal criteria for receiving this award are (1) a record of superlative teaching, counseling or librarianship, and/or (2) the development and successful utilization of a major curriculum improvement project that advances teaching effectiveness at any educational level.”

Doris earned her B.A. in Political Science at CSUN and completed her Master of Library Science degree at Western Michigan University. She her began work as a Librarian at the Oviatt Library in 1996.
