New Database: Mental Measurements Yearbook with Tests in Print

The Library has added a new database to our collections.  The Mental Measurements Yearbook with Tests in Print provides a comprehensive guide to over 2,700 contemporary testing instruments. Offers evaluations of the latest assessments in education, psychology, business, law, healthcare, counseling, and management. In addition to test reviews, descriptions of the purpose, target population, administration, scores, price, author, and publisher for all listed tests are provided.

New Databases Recently Added

Counseling and Therapy in Video is an online collection of video for the study of social work, psychotherapy, psychology, and psychiatric counseling. Features counseling sessions, consultations, interviews, demonstrations, and lectures.

MEDLINE (Ovid) contains indexes and abstracts from about 5,000 journals on medicine, allied health and life sciences. Coverage from 1948.

Ovid Journals database provides full text access to Ovid journals. Includes access to former Kluwer journals through 2005. Access limited to one user at a time for current titles.

Customize Your Library Resources

Our subject-based database pages and Multisearch tool have recently been updated. Now you can embed a list of subject-specific librarian-selected databases in your own web page using Javascript or HTML. If you log in, you can also select from Library resources to build custom collections of article databases, research guides, and librarian pages which can be used on our site or embedded in your external page. Two New Databases

  • Greenfile (EBSCO) indexes scholarly, government and general interest titles covering information on all aspects of human impact on the environment.
  • Literature Criticism Online (GALE) provides full-text access to the literary critical works in classical and medieval, contemporary and twentieth-century literature.

EndNote Web

You can now use EndNote Web to collect and manage your citations — even produce a “Works Cited” list. Go to the EndNote Web start page to create your account. See Managing Citations Using EndNote Web for more information.

Scitopia Federated Search

Scitopia is now available on our Databases A-Z page.  A collaboration of 15 science and technology societies, Scitopia provides free full-text access to scholarly work, government documents and patents spanning 150 years.

SciFinder Scholar 2007 now available

The 2007 SciFinder Scholar clients for Windows and MacIntosh are now available from our SciFinder Scholar information page: http://library.csun.edu/Find_Resources/scifinder.html

SciFinder Scholar is Chemical Abstracts Service’s client/server desktop research tool that provides access to the Chemical Abstracts databases, including Chemical Abstracts, the CAS Registry, and more.

New Science and Technology Database

CSUN users now have access to NTIS/DARTS, which provides over 240,000 full-text scientific and technical reports, mostly dating from 1964-2000, selected from the NTIS database for the NTIS/DARTS program.
