QR Codes in the Library Catalog

The Oviatt Library catalog now features QR Codes. Most catalog entries will have a QR code located in the right hand column under the header Get Book Info via QR Code (see screenshot below). Information available in the Oviatt Library Catalog QR codes are: Title, Location, Call Number, and Status. Learn more about our new QR codes at About QR Codes.

LibAnswers is Here!

The Oviatt Library announces the addition of LibAnswers, our new resource for providing instant answers to common questions and for offering help by email.

You can try out LibAnswers by typing a question into the form at the top of our Ask a Librarian page. If someone else has asked a similar question, a link to the question with its answer will appear below. If you don’t find the information you’re looking for, or want to ask a detailed question, you can go directly to http://libanswers.csun.edu, type your question, and click the ASK US button. You can submit your question by email and receive an answer promptly.

New Text-a-Librarian Number

Our Text-A-Librarian Service now has a new number: (818) 900-2965.

Text a Librarian lets you text questions to and receive answers from Oviatt Library reference librarians.

Use Text a Librarian to ask simple, quick questions (up to 160 characters) that can be answered in brief responses (up to 320 characters). If our responses exceed 160 characters, they appear as 2 messages.

Food During Finals

The library is open for extended hours during finals week (see Library Hours for the finals schedule). While food is allowed in the Oviatt Library, smaller snacks are preferable to full meals for less mess. Please clean up after yourself so that others can enjoy a tidy library. If you find that someone has left a mess or a spill in the library, please let someone know at the Circulation Desk, located in the lobby of the library, or by calling Circulation at (818) 677-2274.
