Federal regulations guide administrative agencies in implementing and enforcing the laws of the United States. The primary source of federal regulations is the Code of Federal Regulations. New federal regulations and presidential proclamations first appear in the Federal Register, published daily. Check the library catalog for exact locations of these and other law resources. U.S. Regulations:
- Code of Federal Regulations (through GPOAccess). "The (CFR) is the codification of the general and permanent rules published by the executive departments and agencies. It is divided into 50 titles that represent broad areas subject to Federal regulation. Each volume is updated once each calendar year and is issued on a quarterly basis."
- Federal Register (through GPOAccess). "The Federal Register is a legal newspaper published every business day by the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). It contains Federal agency regulations; proposed rules and notices; and Executive orders, proclamations and other Presidential documents."
