Add Content to Your Contribute Draft Page
A copy of the template you selected will open. The areas outlined in blue
are called "editable regions" -- i.e. parts of the template where you can
freely insert and format text, images, links and other page elements.

The following demonstrates how you might build a personal web page from
the personal.dwt template.
- In the Header editable region, select the text "Name"
and type your name in its place
- Select the text "Title" and type your title
in its place.
- Type or paste the text for your page into the Page Content
editable region, using the placeholder text and suggested headings as
your guide. You can copy from an existing web page or
a Word document. You will have the most control over the formatting of
your page if you paste as "text only" and format
the text using Contribute tools. To do this, in the top menu bar select
Edit > Paste Text Only).
- Select the placeholder "Optional Image" and delete it.
- Optional: Insert an image. SEE Working with Images
TIPS
- Do not paste formatted text from a page open in Contribute Edit
Mode, unless that page has passed validation and accessibility tests.
The result will be a new page that does not pass validation and accessibility
tests, and which you cannot fix.
- It is generally safe (but no guarantee!) to paste formatted text from
a page open in Contribute Browser Mode. (see how
to open a published page) This is useful if you want to transfer URLs
(and thus avoid having to re-insert the links manually). If you receive
the message "Could not convert contents to Contribute format. Contents
will be pasted as Text Only," the text you selected contains non-valid
coding. Try pasting in smaller segments.
