Creating Library Web Pages in Contribute

What is Contribute?

Contribute is a Macromedia product that works in conjunction with Dreamweaver Templates to allow you to create web pages through a word-processor-like interface.

Where can I use Contribute?

On your office workstation, laptop, or home computer. Contribute should already be installed on your office workstation. To download and install Macromedia Contribute 3 from the CSUN Information Technology Resources office, log in through their CSUN Software Download Page.

Can I edit Contribute-created Library pages in another program?

A qualified "No." Since the library pages are based on Dreamweaver templates, it is difficult to edit them outside the program without "breaking" them.

If you are comfortable working in Dreamweaver, and have downloaded the pages to your folder within the shared H:\Website folder, and have followed the instructions to set up a Dreamweaver site, you can edit them in Dreamweaver. Be aware that any changes you make at the code level cannot be re-edited in Contribute.
