An anchor marks the location of material in your page. Anchors can be useful if you want to bring users directly to that material, rather than just to the top of the page. To insert an anchor, in the Common tab of the Insert panel, click the Named Anchor icon.
You can insert special characters by selecting the Characters tab in the Insert panel, which contains the most common special characters used in English-language documents.
If you selec the Other Characters icon at the far right, the "Insert Other Character" dialog containing additional non-English and scientific characters will pop up. Click the character you wish to insert, then click OK.
WARNING: Dreamweaver uses deprecated markup to achieve this formatting. Although the current W3C validating tool and accessibility checkers don't seem to mind, it may pose a problem for your page in the future.
