Adding Rules, Anchors and Special Characters

Horizontal Rule

Select Insert > HTML > Horizontal Rule

Note: the XHTML 1.0 standard element for horizontal rule looks like this: <hr />

Anchors

An anchors can be useful if you want to bring users directly to material inside a page, rather than just to the top of the page. To insert an anchor, select Insert > Named Anchor (and name your anchor)

• The name should include no spaces.
• A link to the anchor should include the URL of the page with #anchorname appended at the end. The link to the section on special characters on this page, for example, might look like this:

Special Characters

Select Insert > HTML > Special Character > [special character of your choice]

Non-English Latin characters using diacritics can by found by selecting Insert > HTML > Special Character > Other Characters.
