Second Annual CSUN Open Access Award: Digital Publishing and the Future of Scholarship

In honor of International Open Access Week, please join us as we present our 2nd Annual Open Access Award to CSUN’s Center on Disabilities. The CoD has been on the cutting edge of scholarship for the past 30 years with its renowned International Conference on Assistive Technology and Persons with Disabilities and their new open access Journal on Technology & Persons with Disabilities.

The theme of our event is open access digital publishing and its impact on the future of scholarship.  We invite you to join the discussion and learn more about the growing Open Access movement, as well as learn about how to earn grant funding for creating digital learning objects. 

Invited speakers include: CSUN Provost Yi Li, Library Dean Mark Stover, Dan Morgan publisher of Collabra (UC Press’s open access mega-journal), and Laurie Borchard, Coordinator, CSUN Affordable Learning Solutions team.

Coffee, pastries and Open Access goodies will be provided.

Schedule:

8:30-9:15 – Registration + Coffee

9:15-9:25 – Introduction by Mark Stover, Dean of the Oviatt Library

9:25-9:40 – Remarks by Provost Yi Li

9:40-9:45 – Open Access Award presentation to Center on Disabilities

9:50-10:50 –  Dan Morgan, publisher of Collabra

10:50-11:00 – break

11:00-12:30 – Laurie Borchard, CSUN Affordable Learning Solutions Coordinator
