The Middle Ages were the recent past and the Renaissance was on the horizon. It was a time a new ideas, of exploration of new worlds, an explosion of literature and theater, of religious unrest, and the rise of a growing middle class.

The ruler of the English was a Queen who had followed a rocky path to her throne. Under her reign these new ideas flowered into one of the richest periods of English culture. Her reign is known as the Golden Age. Come explore the world of Elizabeth I.
