A Petite Adventure - Exploring Alaska's Inside Passage
on a 34 foot Motor Yacht

The Friends first noontime lecture
proved to be a
great success, as Geography professors Dr. Robert Gohstand and
Dr. Antonia Hussey entertained and informed the many people who
came to learn more about Alaska. Displaying navigation charts and
slides, the professors spoke of their trip through Alaska's Inside
Passage on a 34 foot motor yacht they chartered in Juneau last Summer.
The trip was quite an adventure, with very rough seas
at one location, and perfect solitude at some points, until they met the
many large cruise ships that frequent parts of the Inside Passage.
Dr. Gohstand's slides of the Alaskan scenery were beautiful, many of
them taken from a different perspective, that of a small boat on Glacier Bay,
than one usually sees.
Look for more noontime lectures in the future.
