Ferrer, Manuel Y. (1828-1904)Ferrer was born in Baja California of Spanish parents in 1828 and died in San Francisco in 1904. Most of his adult life was spent in the San Francisco area where he was an active teacher and performer. His best known student was the 20th century pioneer Vahdah Olcott-Bickford, founder of the American Guitar Society (1923). Ferrer was an early member of San Fracnisco's prestigious Bohemian Club. ![]()
