Description:

Headquarters of SBCGS. Our dedicated genealogical research library is the SAHYUN LIBRARY. In 2012 we have just completed a $1 million+ addition to the property donated to the sbcgs in 1998. Please take a look by clicking on LIbrary on our www.sbgen.org website. Research of our 14,000+ collection of books, maps, periodicals, microfilms, microfiche, and 700+ genealogical CDs is free; but donations gratefully accepted. There are inexpensive photocopy fees. Due to the presence, for six years, of a Beginning Germanic Genealogy course in the local Adult Education system (SBCC Continuing Education) which is taught by a member of our society, our German collection, which continues to grow, is one of the Sahyun's strengths. Currently we have more than 230 items (books, CDs, etc) including all 41 current Hansen Map Guides to German Parish Registers, Minert's German Immigrants in American Church Records as they are published, and a full set of series I and II of Glazier's Germans to America. The catalog of the Sahyun Library can be searched from our society website, or go directly to <http://www.sbgen.org/cpage.php?pt=34> and click on the old card file! :-)
