CSUN library uses Library of Congress Subject Headings when . Following
are a select list of LC subject headings appropriate for research on topics
for nursing. Each LC subject heading is
a link into our CSUN
catalog. Remember to Sort Results
by date to get the most recent books first. If you want to retrieve ALL
books that mention the keyword(s) anywhere in the catalog record change
the search from a subject search to a keyword anywhere.

books, identify citations for articles in journals as well as offer
many full text articles. From the library's homepage, select

To assist you in finding the journal articles, the CSUN list of Electronic Periodicals and bibliographic databases offer
links. Periodical databases now provide full text access possibilities where the database is limited to citation or abstract.
If CSUN does not own the journal title you need, you may request articles using the Interlibrary Loan service at http://illiad.csun.edu/.
- Multisearch Health Sciences Multisearch provides a single point where you can search up to ten (10) databases at once.
search over 25,000 electronic journals, all through one common search interface. Multisearch also provides a way to save records.
- CINAHL Plus with Full Text is an essential research tool for nursing and allied health. In addition to indexing over 3000 nursing and allied health sources, CINAHLPlus also offers some full text, lists the references as part of the indexing, offers a cited reference search, as well as Evidence based care sheets. Coverage starts from 1937- . You will need to connect directly into CINAHLPlus in order to get to all its features. Multisearch can give you a hint of the numbers of records, but CINAHLPlus with Fulltext itself should also be searched.

Medline is the leading research-oriented medical and health indexing and abstracting service from the U.S. National Library of Medicine. It is available from several vendors each with a different suite of databases. The freely available, open access PubMed is good for lifelong learning.

- MEDLINEplus (U.S. National Library of Medicine)
MEDLINEplus provides information to help answer health questions. MEDLINEplus brings together, by health topic, authoritative information from the National Library of Medicine (NLM), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), government, non-profit and health-related organizations. Preformulated MEDLINE searches are included in MEDLINEplus and give easy access to the medical research literature. The database also provides consumer health information, drug information, dictionary, and an illustrated medical encyclopedia.

Periodicals and Serials Catalog. The catalog record gives you the call
number for the journal in print and also provides a link to the online
journal when journal is available online. The library catalog has cataloging
records for over 6,500 electronic journals available from certain electronic
journals subscriptions such as Academic Search Elite, Science Direct, or
publisher's websites.
The library subscribes to over 25 Full text databases offering access to
over 25,000 electronic journals. To identify which database may offer full
