The goals of the library sessions are:

Learn How to do Library and Internet research: determine information need, choose best resources, develop a search strategy, understand keyword and subject searching, how to use boolean operators and truncation  symbols, how to cite sources, and more.

Learn how to use:

Find Articles and Research Data -Health Sciences to identify useful databases. Most databases offer Find Text find text image link for each record which helps you identify is CSUN owns the item. If CSUN does not own the item, it will offer a link to the ILL loan service.

Health Sciences Multisearch to search up to ten (10) databases simultaneously.

PubMed - includes Medline, MedlinePlus, and several other databases. Learn about MeSH subject headings, and creating a NCBI account

Be sure to use CSUN's link http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?otool=cacsunlib

Medline (ISI) --need to be a registered CSUN student but also offers access to Endnote Web for help in citing resources.

Health Reference Center Academic (Gale) and General OneFile (Gale)- its subject headings, its citation tools for help with API style .

ABI Inform (Proquest) - has several health administrations journals, helps with how to cite

Library Catalog to find books and journals on your topic.
