Library Research Tips for Masters of Public Health graduate students at CSUN

The goals of the library sessions are:
- Learn How to do Library and Internet research: determine information need, choose best resources, develop a search strategy, understand keyword and subject searching, how to use boolean operators and truncation symbols, how to cite sources, and more.
- Learn the databases recommended in Find Articles Health Sciences - http://library.csun.edu/xerxes/categories/health-sciences
- Learn how to use Health Sciences Multisearch of saved records and search up to ten (10) databases simultaneously.
- Learn how to use the Library Catalog to find books and journals on your topic.
- Register for CSUN's Interlibrary Loan - http://illiad.csun.edu/ (allow two (2) weeks)
- Learn about Cited Reference Searching when you wish to trace older articles.
- Register for MY NCBI in PubMed to save searches, save records, get alerts - http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?otool=cacsunlib
- Register for MyEndnoteWeb for help in citing articles, organize your bibliography http://library.csun.edu/restricted/endnote.scr
