Library Research tips for Child and Adolescent Development
Welcome, Professor Scott's class. My name is
Marcia Henry. I am the Health
Sciences Librarian. Stephanie Ballard is the Child and Adolescent Development Librarian. If you need help you can reach a librarian on
our Ask a Librarian program at
http://library.csun.edu/askus.html or you can call the information desk
at 818.677.2285.
The goals of the library sessions are:
- Learn how to use the
Library Catalog and the
CSUN List of Electronic Journals to find books and journals on your topic
- Learn how to use
MetaSearch to create your own personal list of resources, e-journals, searches, and research alerts and search up to 8 databases simultaneously.
- Learn about controlled vocabulary, boolean operators, truncation symbols.
- Learn how to use appropriate specialized databases to find journal articles on
your topic. The following databases will offer many articles on the topic: Alternative
and augmentative communication devices.
