RTM300 Recreation and Community Development -Library research tips

Welcome, RTM 300.
The goals of the library sessions are:
- Learn How to do Library and Internet research: determine information need, choose best resources, develop a search strategy, understand keyword and subject searching, how to use boolean operators and truncation symbols, how to cite sources, and more.
- Learn how to use the Library Catalog and the CSUN List of Electronic Journals to find books and journals on your topic. The image below is a sample of the catalog record for an the electronic copy of the journal Parks & Recreation
- Learn how to use several databases which help you to identify scholarly articles, newspapers

Learn to look for Find text menu links databases which help you to locate the item if it is NOT available full text in the database you were using
- Recreation and Tourism Management Multisearch allows you to search several databases simultaneously
