Program:

The course is based on the revised chapters 9 and 12 of AACR2 and will cover all integrating resources, with an emphasis on electronic resources. The sessions will include:

• An introduction to integrating resources and their identification
• Instructions for cataloging updating Web sites, databases, and loose-leafs
• Making changes to records
• Case studies and more difficult aspects of cataloging electronic integrating resources
• Selections and options for access
• An optional session on the cataloging of loose-leaf services (CONSER description)

Rhonda Lawrence

A graduate of the former UCLA Graduate School of Library and Information Science (now known as the UCLA Dept. of Information Studies in the Graduate School of Education and Information Studies), Rhonda Lawrence has worked as a law cataloger since 1982. Employed at the UCLA School of Law Library since 1989, she became the Head of Cataloging in 1994. Ms. Lawrence has published several titles on cataloging legal materials, including "Legal Serials," which appears as module 34 in the CONSER Cataloging Manual, issued by the CONSER Program and the Library of Congress

Since 1998, Valerie Bross has been Head of YRL Serials Cataloging at UCLA, a CONSER library. She has participated in several committees related to serials and integrating resources, including the 2001/2002 PCC Integrating Resources Task Group. As an SCCTP trainer, she has co-taught workshops for Basic Serials Cataloging and E-Serials Cataloging.
