San Fernando Valley Award for Non-fiction

The Friends of the Oviatt Library at California State University, Northridge, give a biennial award of $1000 to a writer who has published a significant work of non-fiction dealing directly with the region of the San Fernando Valley.

The purpose of this award is to recognize important contributions to non-fiction writing about the San Fernando Valley and to promote research and writing related to the region. Judges for this award include select members of the Friends of the Oviatt Library Board, members of the faculty at California State University, Northridge, and a member of the Oviatt Library faculty or staff.
