About the Presenters

Guest Speakers

Robert Gould received his PhD in mathematics from UC San Diego in 1994 and has been on the faculty at UCLA since. He is the vice-chair of undergraduate studies in the department of Statistics and is founder of the American Statistical Association DataFest. Rob has been active in the ASA; he is currently chair of the joint AMATYC-ASA committee, and a former member of the NCTM-ASA joint committee and chair of the Section on Statistics Education. He was made Fellow of ASA in 2012. He is co-author, along with Colleen Ryan and Rebecca Wong, of an introductory statistics textbook Exploring the World through Data.

Trisha Cruse leads DataCite with a strong commitment and passion for data sharing. As Executive Director, her role is to advance DataCite’s mission, build strategic partnerships and work with a diverse community of stakeholders. Prior to joining DataCite, Trisha was the Director of the University of California Curation Center (UC3) at the California Digital Library (CDL). In addition, Trisha also is a co-PI on the DataONE initiative and co-leads sustainability and governance activities. Trisha holds an MLIS from the University of California, Berkeley.
