Wikipedia Edit-A-Thon for Election 2016<\/h3>\n

Over 40 CSUN students, staff, and faculty members came together on Tuesday to make Wikipedia a useful tool for Californians considering the ballot measures this November. The group editing session was part of Oviatt’s contribution to\u00a0InnovateLA<\/a>.<\/p>\n

New Wikipedians learned about Wikipedia markup, citation style, and editorial standards. Together we created and fleshed out 16 entries in Wikipedia<\/a>, linking the free encyclopedia to authoritative sources, and enriching it for any reader\u00a0world-wide.<\/p>\n

But encyclopedia basics aren’t always enough. \u00a0On Friday, October 21, Oviatt Library will host an in-depth panel discussion about the ballot measure with the most undecided voters<\/a>: Proposition 60.<\/p>\n

\"assortmentThe Proposition on Porn (Plus Pizza): What’s at Stake this November<\/h3>\n

Proposition 60 would require the use of condoms in pornography. \u00a0It raises questions about sexual autonomy, and the risks to and rights of adult performers. \u00a0We’ll hear from a public health expert, and from one of the performers who would be affected by the measure. Plus we’ll share free pizza with everyone who attends!<\/p>\n
