During the first months of lockdown, I did what everyone else was doing: exercise, clean and organize my house, learn new hobbies, and watch Netflix.<\/p>\n<p>At some point, everything got boring, so I decided to do some research on my parents&#8217; hometown back in Oaxaca, Mexico. I didn\u2019t have anything specific in mind so I started by using Google and found a few newspaper articles from Oaxaca and some YouTube videos. Then I started to wonder if anyone had written anything more professional. I went to <a href=\"https:\/\/library.csun.edu\/\">the library website <\/a>and began searching\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/csu-un.primo.exlibrisgroup.com\/discovery\/search?vid=01CALS_UNO:01CALS_UNO\">OneSearch<\/a>. The first thing I did was to just type in the name of my parents&#8217; hometown: San Dionisio Ocotepec. It is located about an hour from the city of Oaxaca. <a href=\"https:\/\/csu-un.primo.exlibrisgroup.com\/discovery\/search?query=any,contains,San%20Dionisio%C2%A0Ocotepec&amp;tab=LibraryCatalog&amp;search_scope=MyInst_and_CI&amp;vid=01CALS_UNO:01CALS_UNO&amp;offset=0\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">These are results I got.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ebookcentral.proquest.com\/lib\/csun\/detail.action?docID=4386573\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/ebookcentral.proquest.com\/covers\/4386573-l.jpg\" alt=\"Valence Changes in Zapotec\" width=\"198\" height=\"295\" align=\"left\" \/><\/a>First, I found this book: <a href=\"https:\/\/ebookcentral.proquest.com\/lib\/csun\/detail.action?docID=4386573\"><em>Valence Changes in Zapotec: Synchrony, diachrony, typology<\/em> by Natalie Operstein and Aaron Huey Sonnenschein<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">This book has a chapter, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/ebookcentral.proquest.com\/lib\/csun\/reader.action?docID=4386573&amp;ppg=94\">Valence Changing Morphology in San Dionisio Ocotepec<\/a>,\u201d by George Aaron Broadwell.
