Starting Monday, March 29, 2021, the CSUN University Library is pleased to provide limited individual study space and computer/printing access on the Library’s main floor to current CSUN students only while the Library otherwise remains closed.
Prior to entering the Library, students will need to reserve an individual study space or computer station using the LibCal reservation system.
Hours of operation will be as follows:
- Monday through Friday 10:00am to 4:00pm until the end of spring semester.
- Hours from June 1st and beyond will be announced later.
Note: hours are subject to change based on CSUN’s current public health requirements.
Using LibCal, students may reserve one space per day up to five days per week for up to 3-hours per day. Reservations may be made up to one week in advance.
Once students have their reservations, they will be directed to wait at the Library's front entrance until an employee checks their reservation confirmation email and lets them inside. Wearing a mask and six-foot social distancing must be maintained when waiting to enter and while inside the Library. Restrooms, hand sanitizer, and sanitizing wipes will be available to each user, and students will be encouraged to clean their space and computer before and after use. No food or drinks are allowed inside the Library.
Three types of spaces will be reservable: Study Tables, Study Rooms, and Computer Stations all with a maximum capacity of one student. Both Black & White and Color printing will be available to students reserving a computer station. For a list of software available on the 11 PC and two Mac computer stations please review the Core PC Software List (PDF) or Core Mac Software List (PDF).
CSUN faculty and staff are encouraged to continue using the Library’s many virtual resources and paging service to obtain access to print materials and physical media through the Library’s outdoor lockers or through home delivery by USPS mail. Alumni, Friends of the Library, and community members are encouraged to use the Library’s many freely available virtual resources.
