COVID-19 Masking No Longer Required

  • As of Monday, October 3rd, the wearing of masks is encouraged in the University Library, but is no longer required.
  • For those who prefer to wear masks, we welcome and support your decision to do so. Free disposable masks are still available at all Library service desks.

Building & Collections News

  • The Graduate Study Room, Faculty Carrels, and Ferman Presentation Room, recently closed due to flooding on the lower level West Wing, are now open for use.
  • Course Reserves are now checked out at the Guest Services desk, main floor, lobby.
  • Faculty can drop off personal copies of books, etc. to put on course reserve at the Guest Services Desk. Contact Course Reserves/Curricular Resources staff at (818) 677-3282 or for more information.
  • Recent issues of print periodicals and newspapers are shelved in the Learning Commons, next to the Bestsellers. Scanners are available for copying.
  • All microfilm can be requested from storage via OneSearch, and picked up in about 10 minutes at the Guest Services Desk, main floor, lobby. A self-service microfilm reader/scanner is in the Learning Commons, main floor, next to the Reference Desk.
  • The Freudian Sip in the Library is now open. See Hours of Operation.
  • The Library Portico re-paving project continues through the Fall semester. The Library’s main entrance is from the west side, subject to change; access to the Library's Lockers is from the east side only. See map.
