Construction Noise:
Construction noise from the south portico repaving project and other construction projects will be suspended between now and the end of commencement ceremonies (May 23rd).
Study Spaces
- Quiet and collaborative study spaces are both available and based on the Library noise policy. In addition, individual and group study rooms are available for same-day reservations through Libcal.
- We expect Library users to be respectful of each other and library employees. To report a noise complaint, please text Guest Services at (818) 900-2965, or call (818) 677-2274.
Spring Finals & Library Extended Hours
Beginning Monday, May 9th through Friday, May 20th, the Library will shift to extended hours for finals: 7am to 2:45am, except for May 20th, when we close at 9:45pm. Find more information on the Library Hours page and note that Service Desk Hours may differ.
Library Access during Commencement Ceremonies
- Commencement ceremonies, which are held on the University Library Lawn, are scheduled for May 14th (Honors Convocation) and May 20th through May 23rd. (see Commencement Ceremonies)
- Access to the Library will continue to be available from the ramp located on the southwest side of the Library, and access to the Library’ s Lockers for book pickups will continue to be available from the ramp on the east side of the Library (see map of Library entrance options).
- Access to the South Portico and Garden (Lower) Level will be restricted to authorized personnel only during commencement—no public access.
Intersession/Summer Session Hours
- During intersession, which will be Saturday, May 21st through Sunday, May 29, Library hours will be Monday through Friday, 8am to 4:45pm, closed weekends and Memorial Day (May 30th).
- Beginning on Tuesday, May 31st, the Library’s summer schedule will be Monday thru Friday, 9am to 5:45pm, closed the weekends and Monday, July 4th.
- Our regular, academic year hours will resume on Saturday, August 27th.

More Library Hours
- As per University policy, anyone planning to come to campus to use the Library must take the daily student, employee, or visitor health screening survey for their own and the CSUN community’s health and safety, which includes receiving notifications of positive cases in the Library.
- Masks must be worn inside the Library at all times, as per University Health and Safety policy.

- Note: In-person access to Special Collections & Archives is by appointment only.

All circulating items are available for checkout, based on user privileges.
- Borrow, renew, return
- Course Reserves available to current CSUN students, including print and electronic.
- BibliU - e-textbooks available to current CSUN students.
- Locker Pickup Service available to current CSUN users and CSUN Library card holders.
- Interlibrary Loan available to current CSUN students, faculty (including emeritus), and staff.
Technology Resources Available
- Library computers for CSUN users.
- Printing for CSUN users.
- Laptop and Tablet checkout for CSUN users.
- Creative Media Studio equipment and services for CSUN students.
- Assistive Technology Rooms for CSUN students.
- Visitor computer access – printing is not available, but documents can be saved to USB flash drives or emailed.
- Scanning is available in the Learning Commons and is free for all users.
- Photocopying is not available in the Library, but is available at QuickCopies and Reprographics, now located in the PPM Logistical Services Building, Lot C6, and has additional printing and copying services available through their online store for CSUN users.
