Cultura y Comunidad: The Legacy of Latino Leadership in California

University Library Exhibit Gallery

Exhibition featured unique documents, photographs, posters, and other cultural objects from prominent Latino/Chicano community leaders and organizations. An opening reception was held on September 14, 2004, in the University Exhibit Gallery (then called the Tseng Gallery). Dr. Karin Durán, Chicana/o Studies Librarian delivered the keynote remarks. On September 15, 2004, a lecture and panel discussion was held in the Library Presentation Room, featuring a panel of distinguished CSUN faculty author/scholars, including: Professors Jorge Garcia, Rudy Acuña, Juana Mora, Mary Pardo, Denise Sandoval, and David Díaz. Dr. Garcia discussed the exhibit and its significance. Faculty authors/scholars discussed their research process and signed copies of their books, which were available for purchase.
