Take a Finals Study Break (with therapy dogs!)

Posted in outreach

Matadors, Oviatt Library is here for you during finals! We’ve got lots of study breaks and opportunities to recharge.

buttonmakingStarting on Saturday, pick up a finals survival kit: a pillow or earplugs, a fresh pen or highlighter, and a little something sweet to keep you going. Available at the Guest Services desk while supplies last.

Monday afternoon (Dec. 12, 1-4pm) we’ll have arts & crafts in the ASRS Viewing Room on the main floor.  Make a custom button badge, color with crayons, or just smush some Play-Doh to let the stress out.

If you can’t join us, you can download some library coloring pages to unwind on your own.  Try coloring some medieval manuscripts, botanical drawings, and more.

Tuesday afternoon (Dec. 13, noon-4pm), join us for guided meditation in room 251 (second floor, inside Music & Media).  Give yourself a few minutes to breathe deeply, sip some tea, and be present.  You’ll have more focus when you resume studying.

If you’d rather meditate on your own – or right now! – try some online guided meditations. Even five minutes can bring more mental clarity.

Tuesday afternoon (Dec. 13, noon-4pm) will also bring everyone’s favorite study break – therapy dogs!  Join these friendly pups for some cuddles in the ASRS viewing room.

Wednesday afternoon (Dec. 14, 1-4pm) we’ll have more arts & crafts in the ASRS viewing room.

All week, you’ll be able to check out board games from Guest Services, and the Media Wall will be showing fun, calming videos – everything from kitten cams to a roaring log fire in a hearth.

When you’re ready to get back to the books, you can get research and citation help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Oviatt Library is open 7AM-3AM all this week.

Good luck! You can do it!
