Women’s History Celebrated During March

Posted in Exhibit, Learning Commons, outreach, and Reading

Books featuring Gloria Steinem and Serena WilliamsHi Matadors! March is Women’s History Month and we invite you to find out more about the accomplishments and impact of women with a book display in the Library Learning Commons beginning Monday, March 4. These women’s stories will inspire and help to provide a deeper understanding of women’s contributions in many areas including, but not limited to, engineering, science, politics, sports, and humanitarianism. In many cases, these stories will show how far women have advanced, what challenges lie ahead, and how female contributions touch us all in our everyday lives. Please feel free to come by and take a look at the titles. All of the books on display can be checked out at the Guest Services Desk in the lobby.

In addition to the book display in the Learning Commons, there will be a digital display of art by female artists in the ASRS Viewing Room, main floor, east wing of the Library. All of the images within the virtual display can be found in the Library’s ARTstor database. Finally, if you are interested in learning more about Women’s History Month, visit womenshistorymonth.gov which commemorates and encourages the study and celebration of the role of women in history.
