Matadors Enjoyed Study Break Events During Finals Week

Posted in Event, Learning Commons, outreach, and Services

The Oviatt Library offered several activities and events for students during our recent finals week. Matadors enjoyed taking a break from their studies at two button making arts & crafts sessions, where they were able to work creatively with crayons, buttons, and play-dough. The therapy dogs that came for a visit were a huge hit with many students who visited with the friendly pups outside on the Library portico. For those students who needed a little treat, the Library’s Guest Services desk provided hundreds of matadors with “Finals Survival Kits” that included a disposable pillow or earplugs, fruit snack, a school supply, and chocolate, because who doesn’t need chocolate when they are studying?

We would be remiss if we didn’t mention how the Health Center collaborated with us and delivered a meditation session for students who wished to drop in for a quiet and calming experience. Finally, our graffiti board, virtual gaming, and board games, (board games hosted by the Board Game and Tabletop Club) rounded out the list of activities and events offered to students at the Library during finals. Below are a few photos of the therapy dog visit which took place during finals week.
