Welcome to Fall 2026, Matadors! Whether you’re a returning student or just getting started at CSUN, the University Library is here for you with a variety of resources and services that extend far beyond our giant collection of print and digital materials (over 1.5 million items and counting!)
In this blog post, you’ll find an overview of just some of the ways the library can support your success at CSUN.
If you are in need of technology this semester,
take advantage of the Device Loaner Program: In collaboration with Campus IT, the Library is checking out laptop and tablets for semester-long loans to current CSUN students. Be sure to make your check-out appointment online with Guest Services, and please keep in mind that devices run out fast! For more information, visit the Device Loaner Program page on the Library Website.
For additional techie needs, swing by the Library Technology Services (LTS) desk on the Main Floor; there, you can borrow adapters, chargers, headsets, and more! Starting this year, the LTS desk will also be where you can checkout the 2-week loans offered the Creative Maker Studio, which includes audio-visual recording tools, podcasting and sewing kits, and other equipment.
Need a textbook, but want to save money?
Use course reserves! Many textbooks and course materials, including supplemental readings and specialized kits like anatomy bones and stacking cups, are available at no cost to you through the library. Find them by course name, course number or instructor name on the Course Reserves Browse.
Feeling creative?
Visit the Creative Maker Studio and discover an exploratory space where students of any major can have access to hands-on multimedia design and production tools at no extra cost! Submit a 3D print, use our onsite recording and production rooms, attend a workshop, and more. This is your space to create!
Need a place to collaborate?
In addition to ample collaborative study spaces on floors 1, 2, and 3, students can reserve group study spaces like our Interactive Display Group Study Room, equipped with a 75-inch touch-screen display and slot-in computer that makes presentations, small group meetings, interviews, and conferencing so easy!
How about some peace and quiet?
The Library’s 4th floor and the Quiet Study Lounge is a tranquil place for students to engage in individual study without noise or distractions. We provide tables, study pods, and a small reading alcove for quiet study, course work, and reading.
