Every day in the University Library, a team of student employees are enjoying the opportunity to gain hands-on professional skills, support the academic success of fellow CSUN students, and benefit from thoughtful mentorship from the staff in their respective departments. As an added perk, the Library’s annual scholarship program recognizes outstanding achievements with profound elation.
Earlier this year, 30 scholarships were awarded to a group of stellar student employees of the University Library. The generous donors who make this include Library employees and other passionate supporters, trailblazers who have shaped the University’s success, and accomplished professionals with a vested interest in tomorrow’s leaders.
The scholarship recipients are overjoyed and gracious to share their appreciation with their respective donor(s). As a supervisor at the front lines of the Library in Guest Services, first-generation student Mariam Aldi expressed, “This scholarship has lightened my financial burden and will allow me to stay focused on my studies and future goals. I am currently pursuing a degree in Biology Medical Technology with a minor in Chemistry at California State University, Northridge, and I hope to attend medical school to become a pediatrician. This award will further continue helping me along my career path and truly means a lot to me.”
The scholarship reception held in March was an inspirational experience for the student winners, their families, the Library team, and the dedicated donors who came over to witness the heartfelt awards.
