Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

Important Notice: Interlibrary Loan services are transitioning solely to CSU+ Resource Sharing. CSU+ includes all 22 CSU campuses, plus partner libraries through pods that continue to grow.

Our ILLiad system will stop accepting new requests after May 31, 2025. You can still log in to your ILLiad account through June 30, 2025 to view or download materials from existing requests. Please plan to submit any new ILL (ILLiad) requests before June 1, 2025. 

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) helps you access materials not available from the University Library. Requests are fulfilled using CSU+ and partnerships with other libraries. Physical loans borrowed through ILL can be picked up from the Library pickup lockers or at the Guest Services desk.  You may return ILL items to the Guest Services desk during Library open hours or at any of the Library book drops.

Note: Items returned to book drops remain on your account until inspected by University Library staff. This process may take up to one week.

Eligibility

ILL services are available to currently enrolled CSUN students, currently employed CSUN faculty and staff, and Emeritus faculty.

If you have overdue items or owe fees for lost/damaged materials, you will be unable to make ILL requests. You will need to clear any blocks by returning overdue items or resolving any lost/damaged item fees.
