GIS Day: Mapping the News

Join us in celebrating GIS Day as Priya Krishnakumar, a data journalist for the Los Angeles Times, discusses “Mapping the News: GIS in Journalism.” Krishnamkumar reports on the environment, neighborhood safety, and politics, creating interactive visualizations from GIS data to tell compelling stories. She’ll answer questions from the audience about how they can develop their own mapped information.

After the talk, stay to share some refreshments and see how CSUN students are using GIS data to uncover facts about the world around them.
