How does disinformation influence our attitudes, beliefs and behaviors? What actions can we take to challenge messages that promote conspiracy theories, hoaxes, and other types of disinformation? Join us for this webinar that focuses on propaganda and the intersection of visual, media and news literacy skills essential to navigate the virtual environment. You will test your Propaganda IQ and learn how propaganda makers target us and what we can do to counteract campaign messaging.

Guest speaker Jessi Hollis McCarthy of the Freedom Forum Institute will focus on propaganda and the intersection of visual, media and news literacy skills essential to navigate the virtual environment.

Jessi Hollis McCarthy is the head of the educational initiatives at NewseumED/Freedom Forum. Her work focuses on expanding access to media literacy education by creating interactive virtual and in-person programs for students, educators, journalists, community leaders, and life-long learners. She has introduced media literacy to underserved and rural communities in the United States and across 6 continents in countries where media literacy skills are essential to disrupting propaganda and other types of disinformation. Since 2020, Jessi has taught media literacy to more than 30,000 people around the world.
