LTS Desk Remains Closed for Summer 2021

While the CSUN campus transitions back to more on-campus instruction, the LTS desk remains closed but are continuing to take calls and chats for questions as we prepare for the Fall 2021 semester.

Library Individual Study and Computer Use Space for CSUN Students

The CSUN University Library is pleased to provide limited individual study space and computer/printing access on the Library’s main floor to current CSUN students only, while the Library otherwise remains closed.

Prior to entering the Library, students will need to reserve an individual study space or computer station using the LibCal reservation system.

Library Laptop/Tablet Checkout Renewals & Returns

Library laptop/tablet device check outs are suspended until further notice. Any items renewed through the online CMS/LTS Renewal process are due September 23, 2021. If you would like to return your devices early, the University Library is continuing to accept device returns throughout the summer from 10am to 4pm Monday through Friday.

Device Loaner Program – CSUN Campus Store

If you need to check out a laptop, hotspot, headset, or webcam the Device Loaner Program is available for enrolled CSUN students at the CSUN Campus Store.

Library Remote Workstations Discontinued

Remote access to the Library’s Multimedia and Science & Engineering workstations via myCSUNsoftware is now discontinued. We appreciate your patience as we work on making these stations ready and available again for in-person use in the Fall 2021 semester. 

Library Technology Service (LTS) is located within the core of the Learning Commons on the main floor of the University Library. Situated next to the CSUN IT Help Desk, LTS is a support hub for all library technology. The service desk also offers free resources to help CSUN students, staff, and faculty have access to devices and technology to foster the development of the twenty-first century student and scholar.

Devices for Checkout

Laptops, tablets, mobile hotspots, and calculators are available for 7-day checkout, while device accessories such as phone chargers, headphones, and adapters are available for 3-hour checkout to current students, faculty, and staff. Check out items at the Library Technology Services desk.

Computers

Library Technology Services provides support for all public computer stations throughout the University Library. Please see our Computers page for full details on computer locations, software, and policies. 

Most workstations are restricted to current CSUN students, faculty, and staff. However, the University Library has set aside computers on the first floor of the Library for community use. Visit the Visitor Computing page to find out how to secure a visitor station!

Lab Printing

Library Technology Services is responsible for printer maintenance and troubleshooting support for library lab printing. Printing in the University Library is available to CSUN students, faculty, and staff through Lab Printing @ CSUN. Lab Printing @ CSUN is available on all public computer stations throughout the Library.

Scanning

CSUN students can scan documents and book pages with the Library’s user friendly, self-service scanners located throughout the Library. Locations and policies can be found on the Library’sScanning page.

Technology Support

While Library Technology Services offers support for Library technology and devices, other areas in the Library can provide specialized help depending on your question. The Creative Media Studio (CMS) can offer assistance and training for supported creative software applications and hardware. There is also a CSUN IT Help Desk offering support for Canvas, user ID and passwords, CSUN email, MyNorthridge Portal, and other campus applications.
