Description
Headquarters of Santa Barbara County Genealogical Society. Our dedicated genealogical research library is the SAHYUN LIBRARY. In 2012 we completed a $1 million+ addition to the property donated to the Society in 1998. . Research of our collection of 20,000 books, maps, periodicals, microfilms ,and microfichefree; but donations gratefully accepted. Our German collection, which continues to grow, is one of the Sahyun Library's strengths. Currently we have more than 230 items (books, CDs, etc) including all 41 current Hansen Map Guides to German Parish Registers, Minert's German Immigrants in American Church Records as they are published, and a full set of series I and II of Glazier's Germans to America. The catalog of the Sahyun Library can be searched from our society website at sbgen.org.
