Music Collections Overview

Student reading

The Music Collection within Music & Media supports the Music Department's students, faculty, and staff.

Scores:

Available in multiple formats (full, chamber, piano/vocal, etc.), the scores reflect the teaching curriculum, student interest, and faculty research. While keeping current with new materials, the collection also fills in gaps retrospectively.

Sound recordings:

Primarily CDs, the collection also has LPs and reflects a broad range from canonic Western music to folk and contemporary recordings from other nations. All sound recordings may be checked out, and faculty may put them on reserve as listening examples.

Books:

Music & Media collects and maintains discographies, guides to research, composer and performer biographies, texts on music pedagogy, and other materials that support the curriculum and student/faculty research.
