San Fernando Valley Award

The Friends of the Oviatt Library at California State University, Northridge, give an annual award of $1000 to a writer who has published a significant work dealing directly with the region of the San Fernando Valley.  The award alternates between authors of fiction and nonfiction works on an annual basis.

Call for Submissions

The Library is now accepting submissions for the 2019 San Fernando Valley Award for Fiction.  Eligible works of fiction may be submitted to the Oviatt Library by the author, publisher, or any member of the public. All entries must be received by the Oviatt Library no later than December 1, 2018. Submissions must be original works of fiction and must be directly related to the San Fernando Valley. The winning author will receive $1,000, and will be honored at an awards reception at CSUN in 2019 to share and discuss their work. Download submission form (MSWord)
