Speaking on: Planetary Gravity Fields: A Weighty Subject

Geophysicists use gravity fields, along with topography to gain insight into the internal structure of planets and their moons.  Gravity field models of the earth and moon have been developed.  This month, NASA launched the Gravity Recovery and Interior Laboratory (GRAIL) to study the gravity field of the Moon.
