Event Details

The event will be on September 22, 2020 and will be virtual this year (via Zoom) from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time. The agenda will include a panel discussion, followed by a short research presentation, a question and answer time, and finally a fun STEM-oriented “Jeopardy” game for all who wish to play.

Guest Speakers

The panel will consist of 4 women in diverse fields of engineering, including industry and academia, and each panelist will describe their own journey. CSUN Professor Ani Nahapetian, one of our panelists, will have additional time to describe the research she has recently conducted about data collected from women at CSUN who majored in the STEM fields, in both undergraduate and graduate programs. Our other panelists will include M'benda N'dour, Marta Alvarez, and Miranda Patton, all engineers who work in industry.

About CSUN WISE

The mission of WISE is to encourage women to build careers in the fields of science and engineering; to advance in their careers; to preserve the story of women who have pioneered in the science and engineering disciplines; and to inform leaders and educators about the contribution that women make in these important fields. One of the ways we are encouraging women is by hosting events that celebrate and promote women's achievements in science and engineering fields. Read more about WISE and its board members.
